Fortunate Delay – Batman VS. Superman

It would appear that giant groan I heard today was not my stomach, but instead all the masses clammering to see the Batman VS. Superman movie sighing audibly as Warner Bros. announced that the Caped Crusader and Crypton’s favorite son will not grace the silver screen together until May 6th, 2016. That’s right a full 10 month delay of the originally announced release date of July 17, 2015. I, for one, couldn’t be happier with this news because I REALLY want this movie to blow me away and I hope this delay will let the makers of the film fully develop a compelling enough narrative to pay homage to these two Justice League Juggernauts.

Batman vs. Superman’s original July 2015 release date will now be replaced by director Joe Wright’s Peter Pan film. In a statement by Warner Bros. President of Domestic distribution “We share the fans’ excitement to see DC Comics’ most popular figures, Superman and Batman, together on the big screen for the first time, which will now be arriving in theaters on May 2016”

It is worth mentioning upon research of other films opening that weekend that a yet unnamed Marvel movie is currently set to open that same day. Does this mean that DC is setting up for a Marvel vs DC showdown? So it looks like for the time being that if you want your fix of flying you might have to buy a ticket to Peter Pan or just follow the second star straight on until morning.

Who do you think would win in a DC vs. Marvel movie showdown?
